Two kinds of AI sales coach
Most tools sold as AI sales coaches fall into one of two groups. They solve different problems.
| Team platforms | Method coaches | |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | Sales teams, their managers and training departments, some with low cost plans for individual practice | One person selling, often without a manager |
| Main job | Practise with AI buyers, score recorded calls, track progress across reps | Advise on your real deals, rehearse specific meetings, explain why |
| Content | Scenarios the team sets up | One tested method, applied to what you tell it |
Comparison as of October 2026. Features and pricing change, check each vendor's site.
If you manage ten sellers, a team platform is probably what you need. If you are the only seller, most of what a team platform offers, such as dashboards, manager reviews and onboarding tracks, has no one to serve.
What to look for
- A named method. Advice built on one method is consistent. Advice built on “best practices” is an average of the internet, and the average answer to most sales questions is the one that loses deals.
- Your real deals. Generic scenarios are fine for practice. The value is in asking about the meeting you have on Thursday.
- Roleplay in both directions. Practising as the seller builds the habit. Watching the coach sell to you, and explain each move, teaches the method faster.
- It says no. A good coach tells you when a deal is not worth chasing. A tool that always finds a way forward is flattering you.
- Pricing for one person. Many platforms sell per seat to teams. Check whether a single seller can buy it at all.
What AI can't do
It can't sit in the meeting. It can't read the buyer's face, or yours. It only knows what you tell it, so a deal described from hope gets advice for a deal that doesn't exist. And it won't make the calls for you. An AI coach makes your preparation and your reviews better. The selling is still yours.
A quick test
Ask any AI sales coach what to say when a buyer says “just send me a price”. A general assistant usually says: give a range so you don't look evasive. A coach built on a tested method says: don't quote yet, ask for 20 minutes, and offer the range as the alternative. The difference between those two answers is the difference between a quote in a spreadsheet and a sales conversation.
How Allin works as an AI sales coach
Allin Sales Brain is not generic AI advice scraped from the internet or Reddit. It is Tobias Ahlin's own method, used on deals he closed worth over $30M at Splunk and Snowflake, written down in 20 knowledge documents of about 30,000 words and tested on 25 real sales scenarios. You ask about a real deal or objection and it answers with that method, names the technique behind each step, and tells you when to walk away. It does AI sales roleplay both ways: by default it plays the customer so you can practise, and on request it sells and explains why it answered that way. It also reviews deals with MEDDPICC.
